Cecil hatched with his clutch mate, Chalice (XU) originating from RAF Marham. Whilst his hatching process went well and he hatched as a very large chick, Cecil hatched with bent toes, which needed strapping for a day to help them straighten out. After being liberated from his foot bandages and sporting straight and healthy toes, Cecil went on to be a healthy and confident bird, spending much of his time running about snapping at insects.
With his XL flag and his large beginnings, Cecil ironically ended up being one of the smallest birds in his flagging cohort. Despite his small size, Cecil has been doing well since being released. He spent his first week exploring the area around his release site, before carrying out a round-trip to the coast near Snettisham, pit-stopping in Shernborne.

Cecil seems to have had enough adventure for now and currently doesn’t travel very far. He has spent the last two months on the Snettisham coast.
