Cassandra was one of the first eggs to arrive at Pensthorpe, collected from Barkston Heath. As a chick, she was raised alongside Chalice (XU) and Cecil (XL), who received more attention than their brooder mate due to their slightly bent toes (both recovered brilliantly after just a couple of days of strapping). Cassandra had always been noted as being a healthy but quiet bird, sailing through the head-starting process without a single note against her name.
Once she was released, Cassandra took a slightly younger bird, Cyrus (XE), under her wing and the two have been together since. More recently, they have been joined by a male, Calypso (XH) and hang out together mostly around the National Construction College East and a in field near Stanhoe.

Cassandra and Cyrus have remained a pair and have settled at Overy Marsh.

Cassandra hasn’t travelled very far over the winter and has remained at Overy Marsh.
